What we provide:
In the active dying stage (typically the last 5-7 days) of life, we create a team of death doulas who will support the client and family around the clock. Shifts are typically 4-6 hours in length, 24-hours a day. And there is always a Lead Doula who is the main point of contact.
The team will provide ongoing spiritual, emotional and some physical support as needed. Many of our death doulas are also therapists and trained in providing client-centred care.
We have a trained group of volunteers who are deeply committed to providing compassionate care to our clients.
We work by donation to the team. Please contact us for support.
We will join the person and the family where they are. This can be in a residential home; a hospital, long-term care facility or hospice; or other housing. If your loved one would like to die at home, but you do not have round-the-clock support, our service may be just what you need. It provides the family support so they may be truly present for their loved one and know that they will not be alone.
We are currently serving the Toronto area but have access to death doulas in a variety of areas including Kitchener, Hamilton, Niagara, London, Peterborough, Kingston and Ottawa.
If you are interested in learning more, or have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We are more than happy to discuss your needs and how we may be able to help.
